Be Still and Know That I Am God | Submitted by Ken Roth

“Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
(Ps. 46:10)

Last week, as I read this familiar passage of Scripture, it stilled my anxious thoughts because it assured me that God is at work through His people and is being exalted all over the world. He has been faithfully keeping His promise to do this through His church since Pentecost and will continue to do so until Jesus returns. The gospel has spread to every continent and will soon be translated into every language on the earth. As we watch the West’s faith in the gospel rapidly diminishing, and the many good values that were inculcated among us being abandoned, it is a great comfort to know that God is not without a witness. Places like large parts of Africa, China, India and Iran are receiving the gospel and spreading it boldly.

When Elijah felt discouraged about the direction his nation was headed, God revealed to him that He had “reserved seven thousand in Israel – all whose knees have not bowed down to Baal and whose mouths have not kissed him.” (1Ki.1918) Let us pray that God will help the FMCIC to be part of that remnant that will, “Stand at the crossroads; [and] look; and ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it.” (Jer. 6:16)
