Bishop’s Notes – September 29, 2008

September 29, 2008

Dear Colleagues,

This past weekend, members of the National Ministerial Education, Guidance and Placement (MEGaP) from across Canada met at Wesley Acres for their annual training retreat. The days were long, the training was helpful, the informal conversations, fellowship times and listening to stories of personal spiritual journeys were rich. I came away from these four days thanking the Lord for the committed and competent people that were elected by the General Conference to serve in this area of leadership in the FMCIC.

The whole Committee really benefited from instruction on “Culture and the Missional Church” taught by Dan and Jared, training on interviewing candidates, orientation to personnel policies for newly elected committee members, brainstorming on interview questions, approaches to the care of pastors and conflict resolution resources and other topics related to the work of the MEGaP committee.

On Sunday morning we worshipped as a group at Prince Edward County FMC in nearby Picton. It was wonderful to join in with the congregation as they worshipped and to meet Paul Griffin, their newly appointed pastor. There are pics of these events in the Photo Gallery this week.

May you know Jesus’ deep joy as you serve in His name.

Blessings,
Bishop Keith
